Malacca – Motorbike Graveyard

On the Western side of Malaysia, Malacca was a great place to discover old colonial buildings in a poor state of repair, bunkers and history galore.

If you take a close look at the motorbike graveyard pics above you will discover an old second world war bunker in the background, as well as the one in someones front garden.

As always, the food is amazing everywhere in Malaysia and Malacca is no exception, although it didn’t help in the case of Harper’s Restaurant and Lounge below :

The Manics were not one of my favourite bands, but this is a mighty record. It really should have been a monster smash but it wasn’t released as a single until a long time after the album “Generation Terrorists” was released in 1992.

Derelict Malaysia Holiday Resort

This is one of my favourite discoveries.

I noticed a broken roadside sign on a road trip along the East Coast of Malaysia which made me pull over and take a look.

Little did I expect to find a resort as large as this in such an advanced stage of decay, so quickly after only being closed for 3-4 years.

It just goes to show that nature doesn’t need long to claim back – as can be seen by the crumbling beachside chalet.

Here some before and after piccies :

Ok, I know Malaysia isn’t Cambodia, but I was lucky enough to see the DK’s when they were at their prime, and yes, they were a mighty band live.
